    Hi folks,

I'm heading to a gig in Aug and my 11 year old sis wants to come with me. I'd like to try to get passes for the front pit but not sure how to get them, do u have to cue early or at a certain gate, pay extra or something?? I contacted the promoter and ticketmaster but they both were no help at all!!

I just want to know what to do, thanks in advance for any light ye can shed on the subject. ;)

    Do they still give passes?

Go early, first come first serve.

I've found that the earlier you are there the most chance you have of getting the passes. Unfortunately a lot of people tend to start queueing at stupid o clock to try get the passes :(

Sometimes its randomly allocated, mostly first there though.

At a couple of gigs i've seen people bribe the bouncers to get in. May or may not be worht a shot depending on your/their morals

maybe not passes but at the last gig I was at the front pit got different colour wristbands to everyone else so they could get into the front pit. thanks for the info guys, prob have to take the day off to start queing at stupid o' clock, coming from cork to gig in Dublin, feck!

I dunno if it depends on venue, but the RDS is first come first served. I brought my 11yr old sister to Rihanna () in Dec and we got wristbands when we started queueing at about 6 (think the tickets said 7:30). Same with the Smashing Pumpkins in Feb - arrived at about 6:15ish and we got wristbands to get into the pit no problem.

    Best of luck!

I've brought the newphew who's 10 to Metallica and Korn gigs. We've had security people come up each time and hand us a wrist band for the pit. They just walk around and give them out to youngsters.

pretty much the same as what everyone else is saying here, turn up early and keep and eye out for what's going on at the front.

I was at REM in Marlay Park and noticed that the security at the front were handing out wristbands for the front pit so I got one. I haven't been bothered queuing up for hours just to get in for other gigs though.

You can buy them off the security guards/bouncers- but they prefer to hand them out to young lads/lasses, and rightfully so.
