They started a few months ago.

Don't ask for details, I can't give too many, but certainly the Carribean qualifying's begun. There was a thing in Rugby World about it.

This is all I could find on the IRB site..dont ask me about permutations etc..no clue....

    12 July 2008 Cote D'Ivoire v Zambia Abidjan
    12 July 2008 Kenya v Cameroon Nairobi
    12 July 2008 Madagascar v Botswana Antananarivo
    12 July 2008 Zimbabwe v Senegal Harare
    02 August 2008 Namibia v Zimbabwe Windhoek
    02 August 2008 Morocco v Cote D'Ivoire Casablanca
    02 August 2008 Tunisia v Kenya Tunis
    02 August 2008 Uganda v Madagascar Kampala

Surprised Zimbabwe can even field a team, could become a political hot potato if they proceed...

No we simply placed into our group depending on our ranking by December the 1st and unless Scotland beat one the SH and we loose our matches to the SH teams we are fine.

Hmmm, following a wee bit of research, i think there's a new seeding system being introduced...there are twelve automatic seeds based on RWC 2007 group placements...the top three in each group automatically qualify, which means were alright...phew....

Zimbabwe would have quite a good team if it weren't for their miserable problems. Quite a pity I suppose.

I'd love to see the World Cup increased in size to let some of the smaller teams in. It can't hurt them to get some experience of very competitive rugby.

i taught they were changing it this year. Only the 1/4 finalists and the hosts automatically qualify. I remember watching the Wales game on bbc when they lost to fiji and they mentioned it. Sure argentina had to qualify for this world cup, they finished 3rd in our group in australia

They have as iv said and toomevra has elaborated on is that rankings in 1-12 are automatically in the process for that ends December 1st so dont want to loose our place at 8th.

Teams ranked outside of 12th have to qualify though.
