Setting up coax

    Hi!

Hope this is the right forum, apologies if not.

Basically I have a 42inch aldi tv (medion?).
    It is in my bedroom.
The reception on it isnt great, but when the tv downstairs is watching sky digital we see what they are watching on one channel and reception is perfect.
As far as I can tell the only input to the tv is through the coax cable which must hook into the tv downstairs somewhere along the line.

    1. Is it possible to have the sky digital channel perfect but all the other channels have static, despite them all using the same coax cable? ..is sky digital a real strong signal or something?

    2. Do I need a specialist crimp tool for setting up Coax? (incase its the cables fault)

If you're getting the signal from Skybox OK, then there is no problem between Skybox and bedroom TV. So the issue lies between Skybox RF input and the aerial (or whatever else you use).

Is the incoming aerial/cable signal going through the Skybox? It will need to, so that it works upstairs.

No crimping tools are necessary for coaxial connectors, be it F (screw on type used on satellite) or Belling Lee (round standard pushon connector).
