Just back from China and there was a intersting article in one of the papers.

All companies and persons selling goods via the internet inc e-bay and some other site have been able to do so tax free.
The government has given them one month to register for tax with a particular emphasis on hong kong. Companies like fedex etc have to report all companies that send multiple orders out. They will also trace all isp addresses in order to ensure compliance.

We may start seeing an increase from the likes of kea soon

Ah well. All good things come to an end. But there are still bargains to be had. Even Flash Camera is gone from eBay.:(

Does that mean that they will have to pay (income) tax on their profits or charge a sales (VAT) tax on their products?

I dont know if they have a vat situation over there cant see any mention of it on any of my expense receipts. The article read more on the lines of a tax on profits. 45% I was told on luxury goods.

Saw the other day in the thread "Dublins dearest camera shop" prices were going up 15% in August. Does this mean it could be 20-25%?:mad: I have a funny feeling if this is true we are going to be flogged.
