I used to write the whole time - short stories, poetry, etc... but since starting my new job which takes up about 80% of my day, I don't have the urge to take up the pen anymore. I'm just so tired and I can't find anything new to write about. I feel like it's all been done before. Has this happened to any of you other writers out there?

    Yes it happens,

    take a holiday,
    make more time for yourself,
    spend less time online :pac:

eat out and indulge in other little luxuries,
listen to music and stuffl ike that at work,
if you work at a computer think about a really nice screensaver.

How long have you been working at your new job? Sometimes it takes a while to get used to a new schedule.

Are you a morning person? Could you get up 30 minutes earlier and get that little bit of writing done before work wears you out? Do you exercise in the evenings? Could you write for 15-20 minutes after that, while thinking about what to write as you're exercising? The important thing is to make yourself keep writing, even if it's only a little bit, rather than wait to get back to some ideal of a mood or an energy level you feel you should have in order to write. The more you write the more things will come to you as you're writing; the idea that there's nothing new to write about is a mood thing, not a factual discovery.

Poor you .Quit your job.Join the foreign legion, go awol and get lost somewhere in the south pacific. fall in love with a tall black man and leave him when you find out your pregnant with his love child. Sail on a boat and give birth at sea. Then when you come home you will have even less time to write, as you will have to raise a half cast child in europe's most racist country, but at least you will have a good story to tell when the child is raised at the over 55s club every other tuesday in the parish center.
