    i ordered a camera flash from keaphoto, i think it worked out about 180-190 euro including postage and insurance. customs held the item from july 1st and didnt write out to me until the 7th (big pain in the arse since i needed the flash and it took over 2 weeks when it should have been 7 days,but anyways..)
    basically they want me to forward them the receipt of the flash thru paypal..does anyone know how i do this? and how much tax should i expect to pay on the flash (say its 200 euros just to round it off)
    also, the guy i bought it from "keaphoto", i contacted him and he said wrote on the box the item is used and only a gift for parts/no value...so what happens if i forward the real invoice? will i get in trouble? (and will he?im not too bothered if he does since i didnt ask him to lie on the forms but im just curious)
    thank ya in advance!:pac::p

    You won't get in trouble as it's the sender who wrote on the declaration. Customs obviously don't believe this and hence are looking for an invoice. You could tell them you don't have one, which you wouldn't for a gift. If they choose not to believe you, they'll value it at the Irish retail price and charge you accordingly.

    Charge will be customs (varies between about 5-15%) and VAT on top.
