Dunno if this is really the right place for this question (should be in music forum???), but in 'The Matrix' (first one), in the scene near the start where Neo goes to the club (following the 'white rabbit') and first meets Trinity, wtf is the track playing in the background? It's f**kin awesome but I can't for the life of me find out what it is / who it is. Any ideas guys?

Can't remember that scene but could it be Rod D's 'Clubbed to Death'??

According to Wikipedia it's either Dragula by Rob Zombie or Mindfields by the Prodigy. My money's on Dragula, it's a cracking tune...

Maybe there is two tunes being played, One is defo the prodigy.

Assuming you watched it on Sky one last night, had not seen it in a while - still brilliant.

Here's my Matrix question: Why was it on Sky1 last night? I found it weird them showing films. Stranger still is the fact they only had trailers every 30 minutes. Thats not like those moneygrubbers.

They have been doing it for a few years now - SKy one movies sponsored by Sky movies....they have it during the breaks

By the way, the soundtrack for Matrix (there is only ONE Matrix movie) was for very long time the best soundtrack. I can recommend that disc again and again.
And the best one for me is Rob D - Clubbed to Death. I just love that tune :-)

On sky one again last night.

Was thinking it would have aged badly but I still really enjoyed it.

Rob Zombie is the first song in the club, when Trinity approaches Neo for a chat the song changes to the prodigy.

Rage Against the Machine - Wake Up at the credits...

I really have to dig up that soundtrack again!

man I used to love that soundtrack. I remember I'd put it on my diskman, go for a run, and if I started to get tired just mutter to myself "there is no spoon"... yeah I was a pretty big nerd :o but it kept me going. I think that was favorite album for a good 4 years after the movie was released.

Yeah I watched this myself last night for the first time in years. I too though it would have aged but my god, it can stand up against ANY movie made recently. It's one of the finest movies ever to be made.

I remember seeing it in the cinema, at the end when he slams down the phone and ''wake up'' starts thumping away, I was in awe!!! That was my first taste of RATM, and it was the reason I bought the soundtrack, which was also awesome!

My Matrix question is "is the city in the movie Sydney, Australia?"

Yeah I know it was filmed in Sydney (I've actually been to every street/location that appears in this film for real, but what I'm asking is is it actually meant to be Sydney or just "anywhere planet Earth"? Reason I ask is you can actually see the Harbour Bridge in the last scene of the movie as tho they deliberately let it slip thru.

I believe it's supposed to be any city. In some scenes they used big backdrops of random buildings assorted to give it a "big city" vibe, not necessarily just using a backdrop of Sydney.

As for the final scene, I imagine they let it slip through given the vast majority of the crew were Aussies...
