OS X and Samsung Tocco

Just acquired a Samsung Tocco from the CPW in Belfast because it a) boasts a 7,2mbps connection (where available) and b) is unlocked. However it really does come across as a poor man's iPhone (without even wifi).

I haven't yet decided whether to return it or not but in the meantime has anyone had any success pairing it with a MacBook/OS X Leopard to use it as a modem or know how to?

I can get it to pair and to go through the connecting process as easily as a Nokia but on the occasions when the data connection authenticates, it simply stops and will not display any webpages or retrieve any mail. I have tried it with a variety of SIMs and the correct APNs. No joy.

Iontas na n-iontas, I just got it to work.

I used the string *99***1# as telephone number and I'm in! On 3 Ireland, it's still pretty caca but on O2 IRL it was flying. Dunno if the string I'm using is a pure accident or the right one, but for the moment it's all good.
