Strange Outlook Problem

Hi, I've encountered a very strange problem with outlook. A user copy a dodgy copy of office 2003 and installed it on his PC. Everything would work except outlook.

So when I got the PC, I uninstalled office and installed a genuine 2003 version. The problem is - when I go into Outlook, everything is in english EXCEPT the default folder names (inbox, outbox, sent items etc...), which are in spanish! (I'm in Ireland, and the computer has never been set to spanish or anything like that)... I checked all the settings in outlook, and they're fine.

I then uninstalled office again, and deleted all records of it in the registry. I reinstalled, and have the same problem. I know it's not a problem with the office package, as it's my own genuine copy, and I haven't got the same problem on my laptop.

Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem, and if so, any solutions??

nope, still in spanish!! I have a feeling it could be something within registry, but I dunno where to start looking....

Hmm thats a strange one alright. The switch mentioned above should of fixed it.

You could try create a new profile in outlook then import the .pst file into that profile and see if that sorts you.

EDIT. If you think there might be a reg setting somewhere keeping it in spanish you could try this.
Search the registry for "0c0a" Thats is the code for spanish language setting within the registry for programs language.
If you find it then just look at the path and see if if relate to outlook. Change that to "0409" which is the default reg code
    for english language setting.

Its a total long shot, but give it a shot if the New profile and import doesnt work.

Check your Regional Settings in Control Panel. Ensure all language settings are set to English

OK, i'll try searching the reg for that after lunch. I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully it'll get it done... Cheers.

Also, all language settings in CtrlP are set to english.
