Hi just wanted peoples opinions on this. Basically I have always been insecure but am quite good at covering it up. Anyway, been seeing a great guy for a while now and we would have had some kind of contact EVERY day be it a phone call or a text message. We just spent a great weekend together and have booked to go away for a few days the end of September.

Now this is what is driving me mad and even as I write it I can see how silly I am being.

I got no contact from him at all yesterday. Should I be worried or do you think its just moving into the next phase of the relationship? Is he starting to feel comfortable and secure that he doesn’t have to contact me everyday. Thing is, is that I love hearing from him……

I am aware that I am the one with the problem of being insecure and I am actively seeking help / counselling for these issues……

Seriously. Relax. It's just one day.

Ah for the love of god its one day, it could be one of a million things -

He may have been really busy at work
He may have sent it and it may not have delivered
    His phone might be broken
He might be out of credit

    So on and so forth.

Put it out or your mind and don't worry about it.

To tell you the truth if thats the apex of your problems at the minute then your very lucky.

    Hiya

Logically you know that its Ok that he didnt text in one day, but because you are insecure you feel panicked. Relax, it sounds like everything is going well for ye. Enjoy what you have and try not to stress about things too easily cos you might appear to be frantic which isnt good!;)

I think you should hear from him every day OP. Why didn't you tesxt him? He could be saying the same thing you know;)

I hate myself for feeling like this and wont say anything to him as I dont want to come across as needy. I just wish I could stop feeling this way.

It might do you soom good to look into some self esteem classes or counselling cos to feel like that is totally uneeded in life and can hold you back

I'm a bit like that sometimes if I don't hear from my other half. Did you text him and get no reply? Or is it just that neither have made contact?

Don't worry chances are he had a crap day and just went hime and watched a movie.

If you're anxious text him ask him how he is?

OK well i text saying'morning, how are you? dont suppose you called me last night?' he text back'morning babe, cant remember if i did as i got home very late from training. anyway how are you babe?' so i said' Im fine. do you knwo its nice to hear from you even if its only a text' and he said 'dont be worryign babe, i will text you later on'.

Im now guessing that he was obviously knackered after the training

I am 1,000,000 times worse than you OP, although I hide it as well as I can. I should get a blinkin oscar for me actin skills.

Just for laughs here are a few of the things I have done or thought iin my relationship with my bloke (the essential problem is he is much better looking than me so I feel I am batting above my average and am just "in waiting" until he notices and does the dirt on me!) Im telling you my mind is a mess!

He decided to take off 3 days to help his elderly father tile his house, I convinced myself he was going to see his ex -they were in a long distance relationship
He told me he loved me, I was unable to speak for an hour, so frozen with terror was I, I could barely speak, other than to mutter "me too"
I get stupidly expensive beauty treatments I cannot afford to try to look "good enough" for him....
    The list goes on!!!

I might add he knows none of this and I act cool around him, but I spend every waking hour riddled with insecurity and plotting how I can keep him one more day!!!

Oh God I am so in love with him, I dread the day he breaks it off with me!!!

lol glad you got a smile out of it, I scare myself sometimes with the nonsense I think, but usually 99% of the time I am able to hide it!!!

Anyway, sorry to hear about your BF's bereavement, that he wants you by his side at this time is very good !!!

You really need to nip this kind of carry on in the bud OP, you could potentially destroy your relationship. You mentioned you are seeking help for this. I think it may be an idea to learn some effective relaxation techniques so you can nip any worry in the bud before it gets out of control. You ARE worthy of this guy, he sounds great so enjoy it OP and don't make things difficult for yourself.

    Hi OP,

I see you are getting some help for your self esteem issues and that is good - I hope it works out for you. However, I would advise you to avoid text conversations like the one above as you appear to adopt a slightly accusatory and needy tone. If you kept this up your OH would start to think you were a bit of a header, which you are not.
