    Hey all,

just looking for a bit of advice off those in the know. :) Going away this weekend taking photos and was wondering if anyone knows how many RAW photographs a regular battery in a 40d would take while using a 70-200 2.8 with the IS switched on? Also, the same question while using a 40d with a battery grip!

    Thanks :)

On average (When I'm not have relationship troubles with it) I get a whole week out of my 5D with grip and mixing the 24-70 & 70-200 with IS on. In work, you could probably say that's 1000 photos, and then probably another 500 outside of work. Using the LCD screen a lot in work too sort out the lights in the studio, and not at all outside of work.

I'd say you should be grand with 2 batteries and 1000 shots if you keep away from Live View :)

changing a roll of film in the rain whilst standing in the mud when you're only allowed shoot the first 90 seconds of some wannabe rock star can be a little tricky though

Oh I wouldn't go to a festival to shoot the acts! There'll be hundreds of other people doing that!

Ahem... This is Electric Picnic we're talking about... right?

Just for the record and all :)
