house alarm problem!

    put a hkc panel and keypad in house to replace old faulty aritech one.if i set the alarm and wait the thirty seconds then open the door the alarm goes off fine. but if i set the alarm and try to open door to leave within the thirty secs as you normally would the alarm stops setting and the little red alarm light on keypad comes on but alarm doesnt sound???

    Ok Are you partsetting the system? pressing 0#7 ? This will automaticly set the system and the red light will blink.

    What Zone is the front door in ? and is it an Ent/Ext zone! hence you have all zones openthen the syatm sets. You go to set the system then open the door and you are opening an alarm zone not an Ent/Ext.!
