Whats the opinion of the various VOIP solutions for business users. I have a residential package and the call quality can be suspect and there have been several outages in the last few weeks. Is this common in all VOIP offerings or is the Business class service far superior ( and if so how) ?

    thanks

The call quality is mainly a function of your broadband connection. If the packet loss or the jitter is high then the call quality will deteriorate. I use Blueface and have a residential package. Most of the time its fine and from the supplier view point outages are rare. Whenever I experience poor call quality a speed test or a voip network test shows my BB quality has deteriorated.

thanks for that, so i suppose based on your experience, the question should be is the broadband sufficient to accomodate business class VOIP ?
From what i have seen it might be premature to put in place business class VOIP over standard broadband packages ?

I use blueface at 2 locations one with UPC's 6mb one with Eircoms 1mb speed for business without any issues for the last 12 months
