I have an Acer Travelmate about 5 years old. Just recently when starting it emits a continuous beeping tone. After about 40 seconds and pressing Enter a few times, it boots up and behaves normally. When it does boot up, the clock time is correct, so I am thinking it may not be the cmos battery.I have tried to email ACER support but unfortunately the serialnumber on the back is completely faded and the form you have to fill out for email support needs a valid serial number. I would begrateful for any advice, thanks, Ray
