Help! Screw stuck on in hard drive bay!

    Just got a 160gb hard drive to replace my 40gb. Any one got a sollution for a screw with the head worn (ive tryed all sizes of screw drivers!) Help!

    Panic not !

    Simply use a pilers or vice-grip to hold the edge of the screw and turn it that way. The heads on the screws are quite soft and I also ran into the same issue.

    Sorry Guys to jump in but what type of drive does the PS3 take. Is it a big task to change out. Whats involved ??

    any 2.5'' sata drive but the one in it is 5200rpm and its easy to change just backup everything first unlesss ya wanna start fresh

    Those screws are a c*nt to get out. I rang up sony and got a replacement caddy for free after I stripped the screws in the original :D Stuck the new hard drive into that instead

    This has been on hell of a ghey day first the hard drive and then the electricity went(so i couldnt check your suggestions)! Asked my dad and he gave me a great tip!! ............ Saw into the top with the hack saw and creat a slot for a FLAT head screw driver!!!

    was gonna mention somethin like that with a dremel but ya could no a lot of damage

    I used the hacksaw to create a groove for a flathead as well.
    Still worth it.
