Possibly lidl, they had them a while ago. I think it was stock from a previous week, only about €6. Otherwise woodies, but they will be more there. The lidl ones were fairly low which is easier to walk in. I got some on ebay from the UK, only €8 delivered and new from a proper shop, probably too late for this weekend.

I got waterproof socks for slane and cheap dunnes fake converse, worked fine and much easier to walk in.

Not cheap, but free delivery here from up the north, order now and you should have them in 2-3days. If you buy a certain amount of stuff it is free faster courier delivery.

hiking shops would have these too, and probably wellies (for big bucks)

I bought wellies last year from http://www.welly4u.ie/catalog/index.php
They are a brilliant company, I received the wellies literally the very next day.

Aldi and Lidl would be your best bet. They're dirst cheap and do the job, plus they'll most likely have loads in stoke since it's the festival season. Failing that, a good hardware should have a good rugged pair. I wouldn't bother with the Welly4U site unless you're trying to impress people with your wellies. There's just crazy prices on there.

For any people with small feet out there, I got a pair in the kids section in Dunnes last year for €5 I think it was. Size 5, standard kaki/olive green colour..

I spent 50 quid on my pair last year because I wanted wellies that were comfortable to walk in and not going to cut into my calves like the cheap ones from dunnes etc do. I've gotten quite a bit of wear out of them and I think they were worth the money.

They look decent quality alright, if you are going to get good use from them there is no use skimping. I also have worn 10 hole doc martin boots, the leather toungue is all one bit and keeps water out up to normal shoe height.

Scissors as mentioned, thats what I had to do with mine. I got them for cycling in the rain and they did dig into my shins, think I got them around xmas but had to wait for the summer to use them!

I'd say you'd need the normal length ones if you're using them for a festival anytime soon, Ireland and UK festies seem to have a universal theme this year : mudbath.
