Hi just bought a 01 VW Passat 1.8 T after some great advice from the motor boarders , and it lovely :D but i have to get the wheels sorted. Any ideas on what to get / where to get them? And how much would you be looking at cash wise?

    Thanks

Go with the bay of e . Quality stuff up there and resonable prices. Start there you will find a great selection.

East coast alloys in ardee have a good selection. http://www.eastcoastalloys.com/

Talking around 700 to start with 17" & tyres i reckon. Better off getting 18" or 19" maybe though on a passat

I'd strongly advise against buying 2nd hand alloy wheels or tyres. It's a huge risk, and a false economy.

    Maybe a set of 18" RS4's ..

Agreed on the eastcoast alloys suggestion, they do good package deals ans supply good branded tyres for good money....

id buy a second hand set of OEM wheels over reps any day of the week, get on ebay esp ebay.de.

do your homework, learn your offset and see what other VAG cars you can choose from.

i wouldnt buy dust caps from most of the retailers posted above.

A cracked, damaged, or poorly repaired wheel can fail with lethal consequences.

    It may look fine.

these guys sell reps and a few OEM wheels(usually not the right fitment for european cars but japanese ones)

However chances are if you go in looking for a set of wheels for your golf or passat you are looking to buy a replica wheel/tyre package and chances are you are gonig to pay way over the odds for what you buy!

thats if reps are your thing, the are not my thing, reps manage to be soft and heavy at the same time!!! ive had reps on my car so im not just recounting other peoples stories!!

the wheels i have on my car right now i bought second hand but i knew the history of these wheels and i knew the were 100% not everythnig sold secondhand is dodgy.
