Where a chimney is built for a stove/range do precast starters exist with a flat underside.

All i can seem to get my hands on are the traditonal flue gatherer starter, with the taper to the outlet.

I'd like the underside to be flat when looking upward through the chimney.

Or do i need to shutter this.

Shuttering is an option but be careful not to reinvent the wheel.
All these elements developed over time to give a better draw, throw off water etc.

There are a number of plumice systems on the market. They are precast from the floor to the chimney pot.

Plumice is idea for stoves, as the chimney temperature / insulated material gives a better "burn" and "draw".
