best mp3 on the market

my old mp3 broke a month ago and i've been waiting on the new i-phone to come out, however now it seems that i cant get this without paying a fixed charge.

what would be the best mp3 for myself to purchase at the moment, considering i would probably only use it for songs and download no more than 4000 songs?

my mate is goin to new york on wed, should i send her over with cash to get me somethin or get it here?

microsoft zune 80gig or ipod classic 160gig.

ipod touch is kind of pointless unless you're not going to use the wifi, maps, mail, safari etc.

I'd personally recommend the new Creative Zen. Savage little player. Flash storage but still up to 32gig (and then some with the SD slot). Great for video too. And has a radio.

But everyone will have an opinion on different players so just letting you know that this one is an option anyway.

edit: should also add that it comes in a range of sizes - 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 GB

And no I'm not on commission! Just happy with mine.
