Depends what you are looking for I suppose. I'd say avoid the new town, the old town has loads of good restaurants, my favourite was La Dolce Vita which is overlooking the harbour. The entrance is just across the road from the church on a very steep street. Not sure about pubs as they all seemed the same to me, nothing really stood out.

We stayed in the Rosamar, http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187477-d500709-Reviews-Rosamar_Apartments-Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html

and the Club de Mar, http://www.realholidayreports.com/reports/reports.asp?id=108&hotel_id=20373

The Club de Mar were far better but more expensive and more central.

Yeah,Old Town is a great spot food wise and generally chilled out. Then you can walk into new town to some bars, some bars just for pints and a bit of craic/live music maybe, and then some disco bar that are grand - no top end djs but good chart/rnb stuff.Old town I think is good for a couple, but can go into new town later for something a bit livlier.have had a great time where we've stayed before.Apartment nice and clean and a great view of Feurtaventura.
