Chevrolet Lacetti- good or Bad?

I was looking at an 05 Chevrolet (Daewoo) Lacetti the other day, price around €8000, i'd like to get a few opinions on these cars as i'm not to sure about them. Or if anyone else could recommend a similer car my price is up to €8000 and anything above a 2002.

Very bland car to drive, and the gearbox I found with them are very 'agricultural' (i.e. stiff and heavy gear change). They are known to have an appetite for head gaskets aswell. That said, they do feel better built than the likes of the Kalos or Matiz (well, that wouldn't be hard....).

If I were you, I'd look at getting a slightly older Mondeo or Avensis or something. They'd be a better buy overall.

Don't get a Chevrolet. With an 8k budget you've a few choices for a family car.

With €8k you can buy alot of better car these days. If I was spending €2k to €3k then maybe but not €8k.
