Attic Conversion - soundproofing

Hi,I know there are lots of threads on attic conversion but I was hoping someone would be able to offer some advice or suggestions with regards to soundproofing an attic.

I'm considering having the attic in my 3-bed semi-D converted. I would intend to use it primarially as a home recording studio. I would still be getting velux windows at the back but would like some advice on how to best soundproof the room to keep the noise down both for the neighbours next door and from the floors below in my own house. I would intend to have the door to the room at the top of the stairs. Any advice on what to do with regards to soundproofing this exit point would be great too.

I realise that it would be very difficult/expensive to make it completely soundproof particularly as I intend to have windows up there but any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    RR
