    Hello,

My brother is about to buy his first mac after trying to convince him for the last year or so. I want him to get the best deal possible as there is no worse feeling than having your computer upgraded 1 month after you buy it.
Does anyone know when the next macbook/macbook pro update is due (roughly) and is there anything other than a cosmetic redesign that they will do to it? I have been reading on Mac Rumors but its all iPhone 3g these days.
    Thanks for your help.

They were only updated in February, so you could think the Mini and Pros would be next. I just ordered a MacBook, even though the rumour is that an aluminium casing is on the way. There is a lovely MBP on the refurb store, 2.4 15" about 150€ cheaper and its the latest model.

    Sorry - its €270 cheaper.

Well, i would say OP, if you need it now, buy it now! Your still going to get a seriously powerful machine that is extremely capable all across the spectrum. However, the MBP will probably see a hardware upgrade at macworld(Jan 09 roughly). It's doubtful that your bro wants to wait that long.

Like whiterebel said, the macbooks may well see an upgrade to aluminum, therefore completing apple's transition from plastic to aluminum.

Either way, they wont be updated until macworld, so if you buy now, your still gettting a great piece of kit
