Is the screen excessively used? If it is then it may just have worn out.

You can send it back to get fixed. I currently have a Wii which has just been repaired and is being sent back. There was about a 1 week turnaround on it.

I could replace the touch screen part for you if you want. Is it an new or old style DS? It wouldnt be that dear to do.

Send me a pm if you'd like.
