Sounds pretty obvious, I know, but I am buying online, unfortunately none of the bloody websites have a model posing with the bag, so I have no sense of perspective. I recently bought a sh!te 3 foot by 1 foot bag, too fecking small altogehter.

    Would 42" {3 foot 6} by 14 inch be worth a damn...or should I go for the more expensive 48" {four foot} by 14 inch or even 18 inch.

Also, what weights would you all recommend? Personally I was hoping for 100lbs.

It will either be the 150lb 4foot by 18 inches synthethic leather by TITLE or the 100lb 4foot by 14 leather by Everlast.

    Yeah , nice one.
I been buying from title a bit over the last few years.. They are a bit slow i must say , in about 4 days time you will get an email asking if you wish to confirm the order at the new delivery price.
It will be a further 4 days before you get your confirmation cleared.... when they will email you to let you know.

Apparently they inform you it can be done quicker if you want to phone them in the USA. Which i never bothered to do.

Within about 2 weeks you'll have a delivery man at your door with your brand new bag and a further bill from customs.
The customs tax is variable depending on what mood the assesor is in :)

So , just to let you know that all is not as cheap as it seems !

But the stuff is top quality , and I will always continue to use them myself.
An alternative is to go to "sugar rays". http://www.sugarrays.co.uk/shop/home.php

which is not going to came with a customs tax collector holding your heavy bag :)

But i heard that sugar rays just order the stuff from everlast/title as you order it.

I have had like 6 week delays from them , with every email saying that "Due in stock next Friday".

http://www.velotec.ie/ is another great place for stuff , free delivery etc.
Dont know whats going on with the websute though

Hey, you're a sound man, giving me help and advice like that. Maybe I'll skip the American route, as my budget didn't include the customs man. I had figured he might have a say but I was just kind of hoping he wouldn't.

Maybe Star Fitness is my best bet after all, but sure they need to order in from England themselves anyways.

No customs from Sugar Ray sez you......might have a look at him.

What bags do you have yourself?

    Thanks again.

PS...just went to Velotec website, seems they could be a while uploading...have you ever bought any boxing gear from them? Would be interesting to see what they have on offer. Cheers again.

A cheap synthetic heavy bag....... cant remember what brand.
its ok, its short-ish but packed solid.

    those title gel wraps.

title classic speed bag , 5x8 and 10x8
    tufwear speedbag - smallest

title classic 5" double-end bag - best fun yet !!
    everlast 7" double end.

will be gettin myself a few new things at christmas , providing Amir khan dosent win a world title :)
(i've managed to work up a €630 free bet on betfair that Khan will not be world champ by Jan 1st 2009)

I think if i get the money I will buy that "body-snatcher" novelty bag on title, looks interesting !!
Also a Pro-mex double ended bag for the tear-drop shape :)

Yeah , I bought a speed-bag platform there , they were very very cheap. I am convinced it was a mistake almost :)
Apparently its run by a former Irish national Cyclist , and he includes a fair bit of varied sports equipment.
His email returns was very quick.
I have a feeling its a small family business , as they gave good attention to my custom ! I was impressed.

Unfortunately they had nothing else i wanted , so i have never used them again.

Could be the one to go with. Its always better to buy at home if one can. Saves on transport and better a paddy to make the quid than not.

Some of the bags that www.ringside.co.uk are offering are absolutely gorgeous but they are savage money.

I would go ahead and ring title in the morning if I thought the taxman would leave me alone. Are you sure if I rang them and did it over the phone I could have the bag here in under 2 weeks??

How much did tax man want off you??

I really really want a decent, heavy, tie down bag for the side of the house so I can start dropping those pounds.

    Cheers mate

PS Pakistani guy in ebay is trying to sell me this for £17stg plus an additional £80stg to send it filled to Ireland: its a PU body bag filled, with rags, 4 feet and around 65lbs.

    Hi Mr ********,

Our quote is for filled bags and you are correct it is becoming very expensive shipping heavy goods to Eire but we have good relations with the Irish couriers which is why we are keen on our delivery costs.

    Best regards,

    Ken.
    Boxfit UK

www.boxfituk.com offering to send a 4ft filled Lonsdale bag weighing 70lbs to Ireland for £39stg. Seems good to me.
