Sorry if this has been asked before, is it only on Sky Ireland that E4+1 has been removed, as I was viewing this channel on Sky in the UK last weekend, I presume it can still be tuned in manually also?

    cheers!!

Whats up with that? Have we just lost this channel?
haven't seen an answer to this in any stickies, probably because its so recent.

Thread merged with an already existing thread on the subject.

See last post in link posted by Foggy above. It'll show you how to tune them in manually.

    Thanks for that Piskins.
I realise that I can tune these in manually but as you know, its not very convenient getting to these channels, especially if you need to have a pin code.

What I was wondering was why it has been removed from the regular program list in the last week or so. Can Sky just remove channels without notice? And why? Their advertising channel list includes E4+1 (the e4+1 logo even appears on my recent literature) but we don't now get it.

It all to do with contract between Channel4 and Sky ...Channel4 group of channels (Ch4, E4, E4+1, More4, More4+1) is moving to Freesat

problem is broadcasting rights to for ROI.
Channel 4 would have to buy Irish rights to show all programming here.
To get round there is an Irish version of CH4 programmes transmitted on sky Irish EPG.
Transponder space is in short supply on astra 2d (limited beam) so +1 channels have been removed. As freesat is not an 'official' platform in ROI and FTA is considered a specialist or niche market CH4 feel it is OK to to broadcast in the clear on different transponders.
    something like that anyway!

Channel 4 simply cannot officially broadcast their channels FTA in Ireland hence the encrypted versions of their channels on the Irish EPG. Somehow they decided not to provide encrypted versions of E4 +1 and More4 +1

i thought that they were taken off the irish epg, because E4, More4 now carry irish ad's, (ie they now have irish versions for the irish market)
But the +1's only carry uk ads

E4 has always had Irish ads yet E4 +1 was always available on the EPG.

Indeed, that could be part of the reason.
