    Have to admit my surprise, despite the well established theory behind it, that this worked so well in practice on a consumer-grade LNB.



    I can see Peltiers becoming very popular among DXers in the future!

    I remember being told years ago in a bar in Vancouver being told by a grizzly mountainy man from the Yukon that he could get far more satellite channels in the coldest part of the winter. I thought it was the whiskey talking, and attenuation through snow and bad weather would make it worse. Seems he was right after all.
