Need my P45

I finished working in a place last April. I still hadn't received halfway through June so I went down and my manager told me he sent out a lot of them that very day. I still haven't received it! Now I really need it ASAP for a college grant application. What dept. do I need to call to ensure that my employer has in fact officially removed me from employment? Or is it just another example of the copious amounts of red tape you have to swim through in this country to get anything done and it'll be here eventually?
    Any help is much appreciated.

It def should not take this long. I would go back to the company and tell them you haven't gotten it. Alternatively I would contact the Tax Office or check www.revenue.ie for help as well.

I was made redundent and it took about 4 weeks to come. It shouldn't even take this long.

Get onto the tax office first thing. I was in a similar situation a while back and they sorted it out very quickly.

I had this problem last year, rang up the Tax Office and they lit a fire under my previous employer. ;) (not literally)

I had the P45 pretty quickly after that! :)

If it's this late you will never get it, trust me, so you'll have to go after this yourself. Ring your local tax office and explain the situation. They will sort you out. Make sure they are aware you have ceased employment and from what date. Remember you are totally within your rights to enquire through any means.

    Good luck ;)
