I was at the Pat Egan show last night

its was okay but the boxing matches were pretty poor themselves , if you can call them that

I heard the show on tv was poor to and kiko martizez match was not shown in full why , ? most people went to the show to see him to be honest ?

the concenus from the fans at that the matches was that all the fights were seriously mismatches

    all the hyland fights were

James Moore v Colin healey was seriously mis matched Colin healey was completely over rawed and never had a chance him, and Mark Callaghan should seriously retire

I heard the commentary was poor and steve colling was slurring his words any truth to this ?

I would give it 4 of ten for at least trying but I would not be rushing out again to watch a pat egan show unless the quality of matches inproved

also the places was dead !!! and it was not value for money that just my opionion

Tommy Egan was the promoter last night .
The show on tv was okay, not crap but nothing too special either . Overall it was an okay debut and the Hyland v Callaghan fight was entertaining even though very one sided(same with the Moore v Healy fight) .

This was a small promotion, there are only two ways small promotions work, unknown fighters with poor records evenly matched or bigger name fighters with good records against lesser fighters , There simply isn't the money for anything else .

Moore had to fight Healy as he was Irish champion and a big part of selling Moore on both this card and as a future Duddy opponent was becoming the first man to win the British/Commonwealth/Irish titles .

Callaghan does take a lot of punishment in fights and I'd be worried about him if his career continues in the mold of constantly taking on the best fighters based in Britain between Bantamweight-Featherweight because he'll only take more hammerings and he's had enough of those .

Commentary wasn't great but if your used to Magee and Dave Boy McAuley then the standard of commentating will seen normal .

Steve Collins was not slurring his words .

I'm sorry you felt you didn't get your moneys worth which is unfortunate .
But it's worth taking into account that this was Brian Peters first televised card:http://www.boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=436875
That card wasn't any more entertaining than Egan's and since then Peters has occasionally put on some good shows despite ripping people off at others .

Obviously you weren't happy with the night’s entertainment and you’re totally entitled to be.

BUT I wish more people would be happy that more boxing is on TV, not discarding it. Although lob sided I thoroughly enjoyed both fights I watched before I hit the town!

Theses things take time to come good, but encouragingly if Irish boxing continues to grow and prosper it will become like a lesser British fight scene. I say that in a sense that Ireland just doesn't have the sheer amount of pro boxers that Britain does. In Britain they have big domestic fights on Friday fight night on Sky, sometimes its on nearly every week, or every other week etc. If Ireland got a boxing show on, even monthly that would be great.

To conclude, I salute the efforts of Egan and co for bring boxing on to TV and hope that the shows improve and more importantly that we all get behind them.

Attending fights for whioch you have to buy a ticket is one thing. I can agree with anyone who has a gripe watching sh!te they had to pay to see. But when its free, and on TV, you should be happy just to sit and enjoy. The more fights on tele the better.:p

I watched on TV and was disappointed the Kiko fight was not shown. Collins was all right IMO.

Callaghan was an ok fight for Hyland he's been around the block and was good experience for the kid.

My biggest grip would be the announcer he was awful - but not as bad as the guy who works for cage rage...

The announcer really was atrocious. Couldn't string two words together and kept sounding like he was trying to force an American accent or something. Very poor.

The announcer is well known on the irish scene and is a genuine nice guy and good announcer, he got mixed up a few times though..i think he just had a bad day...

    How much were the tickets?

€30 cheapest tickets, €65 for mid-range and €125(not sure about this one) for ringside .

Problem is with the crowd being so low they wanted the stadium to look filled on tv(and it didn't even nearly) and some people who had €65 tiered seating tickets were moved behind people who had bought €30 tickets .

I'm sure the announcer is a nice guy but the key behind announcing is putting your own spin on it - I agree he was trying the American line, it just didn't work. Too un-natural

Yeah Kiko won but I would have like to see his performance he was awful against Munroe but his team are now saying he was injured for that fight. Surprise surprise...

I agree on the announcer , I know he's actually very experienced at this stuff but that didn't stop him putting in a terrible performance . Maybe one more go and if he repeats it axe him .

I didn't believe the Kiko injury either, but then Pat McGee said Kiko had actually had surgery for that injury, now while that could be a complete lie on his part it does seem a little more likely that something was wrong as you rarely have camps claim their fighters have surgery when they didn't .

I believe some things that come out of his mouth, everything ?......oh god no .
It's just rare for camps to claim fake surgeries .
