Quality if iphone as a phone

    I am planning on getting the 3G iphone next week when it comes out but i read mixed reports on its quality as a phone, ie making calls, receiving calls, call quality, general use as a phone. Also how it behaves with SMS

    I would like to get people's opinions (who have one) on how it performs.

    I was also wondering if a jailbroken performs worse or the same

    Is the iphone as good a phone as regular phones you have had 8 votes

    I think its a class handset! Granted, its not as good as my blackberry, but I do really love it.

    I'd be a bit wary of jailbreaking it though. I've it covered with insurance, but if anything ever happens it, or i need to use the warranty, I wouldn't be able to if it was jailbroken.

    I have played with them a bit and I have the ipod touch so I am used to it but I was a little concerned about the comments on poor reception and call quality.

    What blackberry do you have and why is it better?
    I had a pearl last year and found it great but I don't really have a need for immediate email access any more which is why I no longer have it.
