    What evidence do you have?

maybe check the sms gateway, make sure its the same as somebody elses on the same network.

does seem unlikely that this would happen

would his phone be programmed to send every sent/recieved sms to a number?

If there is some sort of software doing this, it's not on the sim card so doing a swap is pointless.

Best thing is a factory reset on the phone but that will delete stuff s/he has too, like messages, photos, contacts etc so save those.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and say that is not happening. The possibilities are:
    • she's working for the network and/or has access to data that a normal person doesn't
    • she has put some unknown piece of software on his phone that is forwarding his messages to her. This possibility can be eliminated with a two minute check of the phone
the most likely possibility is that the person who is receiving the texts is showing them to her or she is seeing the texts on the phone in some way

in order to eavesdrop on someone's texts without access to the network systems or the person's phone, the perpetrator would have to have an indepth knowledge of the inner working of smscs and would still need to be able to bypass all the security that the networks have in place to prevent exactly this happening

was your friend going out with james bond?

has he got bluetooth switched on on his phone? If so she could be using that super bluetooth hack application. All she'd need to do is get her hands on the phone once to accept the app. Then she has full controll

eh you'll have to bring me up to speed on this 'super bluetooth hack application', back in the early days there were some issues with the bluetooth implementations on a couple of handsets alright, but on a modern handset, where did you hear this? (some article / site references would be great)

More likely she has the password to his online account and/or his voicemail. Afaik networks pick up cloned sims and disable both ?

Having access to the online account would be no good. You'd see the numbers of the texts sent but nothing else.

This app has been doing the rounds a while now and its very popular with kids!

    Super Bluetooth Hack v 1.7
Once connected to a another phone via bluetooth you can:
    - read his messages
    - read his contacts
    - change profile
    - play his ringtone even if phone is on silent
    - play his songs(in his phone)
    - restart the phone
    - switch off the phone
    - restore factory settings
    - change ringing volume
    - And here comes the best
"Call from his phone" it includes all call functions like hold etc.

Yeah but they have to leave their bluetooth on, right?

Edit:Looked into it cloning actually is quite simple although I don't think its possible to have 2 sims with the 1 number active at the same time.
It seems that the networks can detect this and deactivate your account probably because of fraud and is against their terms of service, vodafone offer multisim but thats not the case here as still only 1 sim can be activated.

And always within a few meters so cant see this as the problem.

eh that's not a vulnerability with Bluetooth, that's an application that requires someone to install it on their phone while while ignoring all the warning and security messages...

Super bluetooth hack is really only popular amongst kids really. My younger brother says people ue it a lot to set off ringtone in class etc. PLus, if she was spying on him via this method she would have to be within X amount of meters everytime. And unless she is extremely subtle, i doubt that this is the case.

    @dubwireless
i never said anything related to bluetooth vulnerabilities. I just told you about the "super" bluetooth hack that the previous poster had mentioned and yes, the reason its popular with kids is its all carried out in close proximity using permissions etc. I don't believe for a second that this is in any way related to the OP.
