Transferring music from iPod to PC

Can anyone tell me the best (easiest) way to transfer all the files from my iPod to my PC? For free? I used to use CopyPod but not in a year or two and now some clown is expecting me to pay for it! the cheek! I used to use CopyPod but not in a year or two and now some clown is expecting me to pay for it! the cheek!

So I've just downloaded Ephpod thinking it would do the same job, but I can't see how it transfers from iPod to PC, it just tells me lots about putting music onto my iPod, which any monkey can do, surely that's what iTunes is for?

Can anyone help?
