    Anyone know what the quality of their distance learning courses are like? Im looking to do the Special Needs Assistant Fetac level 5 & 6 combined - heavy fees - but like the sound of it...........anyone done this one?

    No, I haven't done it, though I did consider it.

    Truth be told, it costs a lot of money.
    It cannot be used as a stepping stone into any other qualifications.
    There are already 100's & 100's & 100's of people out there with these qualifications & other childcare related qualifications who cannot get jobs as SNA's.

    SNA numbers have been drastically cut this year & there's talk about these positions being scapped completely.

    The only qualifications needed for such a position is only the junior cert, although with the amount of people with other qualifications its only natural that the schools would seek better quals.

    The cost of the course you've mentioned has actually gone down in price:- significant of the fact the college knows demand is dwindling as people realise there are no jobs for their qualifications.

    I'd advise you to save your money.

    Do a part time childcare or montessori course instead which you actually could put to good use.
