How to play files!! (POSSIBLE STUPID QUESTION)

So, say you're downloading something, but instead of downloading lets say, an .avi file. It's actually a number of different files, all numbered something like .r001, .r002 etc etc...

How do i play these files in VLC media player, or any media player for that matter.. It's really irritating.

The video file is inside those files named .r001 etc.

You need to extract the video file out of those files with a program like Winrar

Sometimes you have to join those files .r001 etc into a big file before extraction, you use Hjsplit for that.

7zip is what I use.
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z458.exe

Right click on the ___.r001 file, go to 7zip -> extract here or to a folder etc. Then you have your .avi file there ready to play.

Install WinRAR. Then you should be able to simply double-click on ils-shrifles.rar and extract the AVI. Make sure it's the .rar that you open, not .r01 or whatever as the RAR file is the start of the archive, the others are the rest of it split into numbered sequential parts.

Fair enough, but he's perfectly capaple of at least removing the attachment. Yet it's still there.
