I'm looking for a cheap new laptop of any configuration/make.

It'll just be used for basic stuff like surfing/email and Word-type stuff etc.

I was thinking of the EEE PC 700 but the screen might be a bit too small (it's for my Mam and there's no point in having her strain her sight constantly).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

My girlfriend just got a 15" Dell Vostro 1510 for €355. I used it a little and it seems alright, and it has a full sized keyboard so would be better for typing on than an EEE or something similar. The thread on bargain alerts should get you a decent one.
