Running games through bootcamp

I am just wondering do many people out there use the bootcamp feature to game on their macs. Loads of people whine about "oh, macs are sh*t for gaming" but technically, if i'm right in saying so, you can run windows games through bootcamp.

*the reason i ask this is down to a change i'm thinking of making regards my consoles....

I created a thread in "games" just to see what people opinions are. Link: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055328953

Do you think it would run nicely on a MBP??? And how much is a copy of XP these days??

I only need it for the odd game. But with COD4 coming out on mac specific version in august, maybe bootcamp wont be neccesary of more and more games become available on mac.

Counter strike, half life 2, medal of honor airborne. All on full spec with my awesome mac book pro. Great for lans.

Running games on a mac just means no blue screen. The best o both world. And then I re boot to mac for college and graphic design and music.

not sure i agree with you all, was getting 40fps on low res on my mbpro with WOW, could not get it higher, was not happy to be honest. 256 ATI card. The mbpro is Nov model. the screen is good but I miss being able to tweak my grpahic card and drivers to get best results...

Would you think of buying a keyboard and mouse for your PS3? Best of all worlds then.

Yes, someone mentioned that in the thread i started in the "games"forum too. But tbh, the main reason i think is im kind of moving on from gaming now...... i just would like to be able to play the odd bit of gaming on my mac if i wanted. COD4 is coming out on mac version this august, and a couple of games companies have agreed to release games at the same(if not the exact same time, near enough) time as pc games. It just goes to show that macs have gained in popularity that games are coming.

But, i'm gona hold onto the consoles until the end of the summer, then start selling them.
