Just listening to this guy, pretty good, enjoyable to hear his mix of beats and edits.Anyone else been listening to him?

Listening to Donal Dineen on today fm the other night saying that he was the latest thing and was in a league of his own. I couldn't have disagreed more with him though, his mash-up style has been happening for atleast the last 7 or 8 years, mastered by the likes of DJ Yoda,Coldcut,Ruckus Roboticus,Scratch Perverts and 2 many DJs.Mash-up style is great fun for DJing and normally goes down well at parties, but I feel its getting a bit long in the tooth at this stage, especially with the ease of Virtual Dj etc.Is Mash-up style only coming into the commercial scene now?

Anyone else agree here or am I just a mad raving pretentious lunatic?

He/they have been around for ages now, as has this type of sound... Not sure where Donal is coming from there tbh.
Night Ripper is a quality album

sure it's like anything isn't it? as soon as those with little real appreciation for something get a grip on it, they wreck it and waste it.

a new craze, even though has been around for quite a while, let it be worn out to the point people are sick of it and then....

its true it is similar but i think girl talk has his own unique style different to those you have mentioned and none of who u have mentioned are that popular to the commercial market therefore have prob gone unheard of. p.s 2 many djs wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy better than girl talk

Defo love listening to the album, appreciate the creativity and he chooses his acapella cuts over the instumentals wisely.I think he's hitting a bit of a different crowd too,by which I mean his mixes are very indie/garage band heavy, perking up the ears of indie types moreso.

While on the topic, anyone heard the radiohead mixes called "me and this army"?so good, its just clever r.head melodies with some hip-hop beat and mc-ing over it. rather than just quirky beyonce/nirvana style stuff.mucho goodo bud
