Wiimotes not working....

Has anyone else had any problems with Wiimotes?

i have two that have just stopped functioning. One was a little iffy for a while (it would recognise button presses but sometimes would not find the cursor), but now neither work! And it was very sudden, I had been playing for a while, switched the console off for a bit, came back, and they wouldn't work.

I can't figure out if it's the Wiimotes themselves, the sensor bar (very doubtful, since it's only LED's) or the console.

It's especially frustrating given that i picked up Smash Bros last Friday having anticipated it for many, many months. I have a Gamecube controller to play it, but you can't navigate the Wii home screen without a Wiimote, which is immensely irritating! I literally haven't been able to play brawl since last Sunday :(

    Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Have you tried re syncing the wimotes to the Wii?

i had a problem like this with one of mine i could click on buttons on the main screen but it wasn't detecting any movement(eg playing bowling it wouldnt detect the swing or mario kart i couldn't turn but i could drive it was just the movement it wasn't detecting) i smacked all the sides of the wii mote off my hand a couple of times and it started working again..(thats the solution i got from a few other forums and it worked perfectly)
im not sure if you have the same problem so i would try the whole resyncing first and if that doesn't work id go for smacking it..

Re-Syncing was one of the first things I tried.

I just can't get any life out of them at all at this stage, no blue lights, nothing.

i have a friend bringing over a functioning Wiimote later so I guess I'll see how that goes....

    Did you try new Batteries?

Aye, that I did, a few times, though you're not far off what I now reckon it was

I had a rechargable battery pack thing that sits in a cradle connected to the Wii to charge. I reckon it was faulty or something, and has turned my Wiimotes into power sucking bricks. I bought 4 new AA batteries, put 2 in each Wiimote. One still didn't work at all (the battery pack was usually in this one, so I reckon it just bricked it), while th other (which occasionally had the battery pack) worked, then killed the batteries in about 15 minutes.

Solution: just have to get new Wiimotes :(

The lesson I learned: just use rechargable batteries not third party peripheral junk.

Work perfect. This is for the remote and nunchuck, if you want just the remote try this. Im not sure if this one is genuine like the other one- see reviews scroll down.
