I normally skip a lot of the replies, depending on the subject. Especially in AH.

Have a quick gawk at it and the first 2 replies and then go for your tea ... That's what i voted for ...

I' ll have a look and If it really grabs my attention i will read on and reply; if not then i'll go about my business and return again at a later time to read on and respond to one thing or another then ... What's great about boards is that their is always something to read and/or respond to if you want to

sorry forgot to say.(me personally).. if its more than 2 pages then id read the first 2 or 3 responses then head straight for a reply ! ! (but take ages backspacing and quotation marks and brackets!)! and still havent figured out whether you are suppoaed to leave the exclamation mark within the brackets or outside,.. hence i do both, just to be sure.. (like this!)!

In Cavan, exclamation marks bracket you ... >_>

Why did you make a poll where someone can select all options at once?
Anyways I usually make a half-arsed effort to read the first few pages, if it's too long I just ignore it (tl;dr and all that)

I check a few messages to see if there's any fights or juice brewing and if there's not I usually skip ahead to the last page, where any interesting comments will be quoted anyway.

For convenience there should be a tag put on threads people are going mental at each other in.

Use the ould head . If 15 pages spring up on random thread something has happened, if posts are similar like this one skip to end.

Will read the OP, maybe the first page, then the last. But if it goes on for many pages, not likely, unless it's a HOT topic and I get involved. Most multiple page threads are filled with rubbish or trolls between friends, and of little substance.

Depends what the topic is really... Usually eat food whilst reading through the threads.

I'd read the OP, skip past the 'yore mas' and read the most recent page or so to get a feel for the direction of the thread.

Pretty much what BL said tbh. It wouldn't be uncommon for me to watch a topic, have some opinions on it, but put nothing in until somebody posts something stupid.

Nope of the poll options seemed to suit so I didn't vote.

If a thread is rated highly, is a classic thread(JigSaw) or is interesting i'll try to read all of it if I have time. Otherwise I may skip replies but only if it has gone to a few pages.

If its a topic that interests me then i'll read it all.

If the OP and the first couple of replies don't interest me then I don't bother reading and replying

I just scan every single thread periodically to check for when people mention my name.

    None so far.

If there are 3 4 pages and some of the posts are very long then tend to skip to the more recent one, but somtimes skip back ,like reading the back sports pages first through to the front headline in a newspaper :)

I read the first page, skim the rest of them unless there is like 20+ pages then i'll skip to the last after the first two and read backwards if its interesting. :D
