Is anyone else able to pick up English channels from northern Ireland on their digital receiver?

I recently got a sony tv with both a digital and analogue receiver built in. When i pointed my ariel on the roof east i picked up RTE1/2 etc along with radio channels but when I pointed it north, (I think there's a transponder in eniskillen & Belfast, maybe someone can confirm) I was able to get BBC1-BBC4 and E4 along with UKTV History and some others, although they only come in sometimes, and depends alot on weather. Does anyone know how I can get these in more reliably?

Also, does anyone know what TV channels can be got for free in Northern ireland on digital?

FWIW, i can always pick up the 4 irish channels perfectly on the analogue and can pick up BBC1, 2, UTV and C4 on analogue fairly good while the aerial is pointing north.

    Thanks in advance!!

How big is your ariel? Must be fairly large. I've tried a freeview box at my parents home, a couple of miles from the border in south Donegal, with a loft ariel (analogue is perfect), but the signal breaks up too much to be viewable.

The signal is coming from Broughter Hill, but I understand their transmitters aren't on full power yet. Your signal may be much better/stable when whichever you're pointing at is turned on fully.

You can receive all the BBC'S UTV, ITV1,2,3,4, CH4, E4 and MORE4, plus about 200 more channels free all over Ireland with a satellite dish and free to air satellite receiver. Go to Satellite board for more information.

I searched for Broughter Hill on google and google earth but can't find it. Could you tell me what county it's in and nearest town/ nearby areas.

Also, I have an analogue booster on my ariel, Is there such a thing as a digital booster?

FWIW, my aerial isn't that big, its only about a metre long!

    Thanks again!

Sorry, it's Brougher Mountain, Fermanagh, near Enniskillen.

I must give it another go at my folks then, sounds like a similar set-up to what I tried last year sometime, and they're only 40-odd miles from there. Thanks for the reply about your set-up.

Not sure if there is such thing as a digital booster. I read something about a Freeview Signal Booster (http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/tv_signal_booster.htm), but whether it's just a general signal booster renamed to relate to Freeview, I don't know.
