Seeing as XP is now now longer being put onto new machines, I need to change from Vista to W2000. Can someone pls tell me the easiest option??

Im doing this so that the driver to my modem will be accepted...........as it doesn't support Vista...:(

seems a bit drastic going back to win2000

is there no modem driver for xp?

Anyway if you go ahead you'll need win2000 drivers for the hardware on the pc, might be difficult to find for new hardware, and you'll need the win2000 install disk

    This doesn't sound good.

I have the driver, but only for XP, or Windows 2000, or 98SE/ME

but not for Vista which is loaded on this new laptop unfortunately........

Im trying to switch my connection to the laptop, and trying to download the driver to the laptop and see will it work that way.........but will check back here tomorow for other advice............

    Thanks so far!!

Forget downgrading. You obviously have a second computer with XP which is connected to your modem ( dialup? ). If both PCs have a network card all you need to do is to share the modem.
