    Hello All,

I have approx 3000 songs in my Itunes library, some of them mp3 but a good amount were purchased on itunes, My problem is that i want to copy all the purchased music to a safe location and leave the mp3's where they are. My question is how do i copy all the itunes stuff without copying the mp3's. ??

I dont fancy going through every song on itunes ...

    any ideas??

Is the stuff you've bought on iTunes in this path:

    Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

    - because if it is, it's probably just as easy to copy the whole lot to an external hard drive as to pick and choose what you copy.

On the Menu bar, click file and then Back up to disk. there is an option to just back up Itunes Purchases. Simple

Also, you could just drag everything from the purchased playlist on to the desktop/cdr/wherever.

Why would you only want to back up your purchased music and not everything else? Just wondering like......

My guess is that he does not want to wait for all those songs he may already have on cd's to back up. Back up what is not on a cd would be quicker.

Fair enough, but if OP ever needed to re-import all his music, it would be so much quicker to import them from a HDD than re-importing every CD separately.

It Sure would be quicker. Way way quicker. But i guess the thoughts of the initial back-up sounds ( and would feel) like torture to the OP.

Well, short term gain equals long term loss in this case.
