    Hi,

I'm considering ordering an macbook or macbook pro as my 3 year old Vaio is starting to have problems and I fancy a change. If I order from the store on apple.ie what is the typical delivery time? A friend ordered a macbook a few years ago from the online store and I rememeber it being a fiasco, it took 2 or 3 weeks to arrive.

    Anyone have any experiences? Thanks.

Depends really. It ships from the Far East into Holland by air. Then the different orders for around Europe are broken down, customs cleared and delivered to TNT or UPS. Usually only takes a day or two from there. Usually a week or 10 days all told in my experience.

If you are just ordering a basic model with no adaptions or add-ons, you can get one delivered in less than a week.

I recently ordered a customised macbook pro for a friend and it was here in about a week and a half. You can track the shipping online which is really handy as you can see exactly where it is.

    Went for the basic.

Was talking to a mate of mine on Saturday that works in Apple, and he informed me that the Standard spec machines can be held in the UK. Just checked with UPS and that is correct.

According to UPS mine will be delivered Wednesday which is a bugger as I won't be back from Dublin until Thursday evening. I'll try and re-route it tomorrow.
