    • Might be offered a postion on their graduate program(2yrs)
So anyone out there work for them or knows someone who works whats the general consensus

How easy is it to transfer to both regional and international offices.

The salary starts at 28k anyone know the payscales or are IDA employees generally well paid

and generally speaking what do you lads reckon should i jump at the chance to work there i mean for example would it look good on the old CV to have a few years work in the IDA

Realize these are questions that i should be maybe asking them but i grill them as well when i'm speaking to them

It's a government agency responsible for attracting companies to setup a base here.

Don't know anything about working for them but if it's a government job it should be relatively secure.

ok i've been offered the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyone got any views on this its a two year program with 6months work in an international IDA office most likely in the United States and most likely a period of time in a regional office (Galway,Cork...etc).

So is this a great oppurtunity or not????????????

Yes the programme is very good and yes you should go for it if this area is of interest to you.
Once you are within the IDA for a year you can apply internally for positions that come up in Ireland and abroad and the experience is really great.
There is a great relationship between staff and it doesn't have the same crap going on as in other State operations. From my own experience I can only speak positively and definitely reccommend it.

I was working in IDA(Wilton house) IT Department for around two months. (small contract).
The enviroment is excellent and the people are really friendly. The money was good and the kitchen superb!

there well respected anyway and probably the best at what they do in the world securing Foreign Direct Investment plus it could open other oppurtunites working for other firms with the good overview you gain of different areas such as Financial Services etc.
