    M1 interchange

    junction3_large.jpg

Upgrading junction 3 (M1 Interchange above) to a freeflow standard for all M50/M1 traffic movements and building two new bridges and auxiliary lanes to facilitate traffic merging from M1/M50 Interchange and junction 2 (R104 Coolock Lane) north of the Dublin Port Tunnel.

    N2 interchange

Upgrading junction 5 (N2 Interchange above) to a partially freeflow standard including construction of new road bridges, a new footbridge, pedestrian / cycle crossings and cycle paths.

    Other Interchanges

N3 - as per previous thread awaiting approval.

Upgrading junction 4 (Ballymun Interchange), to include a new second lane on all "on" and "off" ramps; providing footpaths and cycle lanes on east and west sides of upgraded junction.

Construction of a fourth auxiliary lane in each direction between junction 11 (N81) and junction 12 (Scholarstown) and a third lane between junction 12 and junction 14 (Sandyford)

Upgrading junction 11 (N81 Interchange) via the provision of a new freeflow slip road from Tallaght to the M50 Northbound and lengthening the existing footpaths and cycle lanes.

Upgrading junction 12 (Scholarstown / Firhouse) to include building a new bridge, parallel to existing bridge to increase traffic capacity to two lanes in each direction and providing new cycle lanes and footpaths.

Minor improvements at junction 13 (Ballinteer) including installation of traffic signals at all grade crossings or junctions and environmental barriers.

Upgrading junction 14 (Sandyford) including adding new free-flow left slip lanes from the Leopardstown Link Road to the M50 northbound, from the M50 northbound to Leopardstown Link Road and from the M50 southbound to Drumartin Link Road.

EDIT: Sorry wrong forum. Mods please move to C&T - Ta!

Does anyone know if they are going to be building off/on ramps for junction 14 southwards? (the junction past bewleys hotel).

Currently, people coming from the south have to get off at the beacon exit, and trawl through the traffic there, or get stuck on the murphystown road bit.

    Junction 14, Sandyford
Works underway on the M50 mainline in both directions. Two lanes in operation from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday; 8am to 10pm on Sundays. 60 Km/ph speed limit will apply for the duration of the works. The construction of M50 Northbound to Leopardstown Freeflow Link and the M50 Southbound to Drummartin Freeflow Link is also underway.

they have also started work on the n3 interchange.

foundations have been laid for several of the new bridges in the median of the m50. Also, they are working on the blanch side of Total Fitness, there is already one pillar standing.

    Re Junct 14...
    Have a look at this.
    http://www.sbea.ie/spotlight_summer_08.pdf
    http://www.sbea.ie/Sandyford_Rotary.pdf

From that there is NO northbound access the Junct 14, but a new southbound slip.

And the Sandyford Rotary will have same connections (M50 north offramp, and link roads to Junc 13.)
But there will be three freeflow left turns...
