Not a Rule 5.

I am not breaking rule 5, more curious what would cause the outbursts.

I had to get my Sons PPS number. So I rang welfare yesterday. The woman on the phone mentioned that I would have to come in with ID to get it, which was fine. I asked what time are they open at and she says 9:15. At that point she asks me if my son is still living with me. I say "Well he is only around 3 years old so wouldn't of left yet". This point her tone totally changes to angry and repeats the question and I tell her yes as I said he is living with me.

I turn up today to find out they don't open at 9:15 on a Friday. *sigh*. I got a bit of sunshine at least.

I go inside and I am at the front of the queue. I should point out I haven't been in the place in well over 10 years so have no clue about the process. I hear next and turn and see the woman in front of me writing something. I am confused if she said it or not. The sign is up that her window is open. So I walk over (more step over) and say "Are you open?". At this point she lets rip into me about how I should wait my turn, not trying to jump the queue and to get out of her window and go back to the queue. When I turn around the guy beside me points to another window where the actual woman said next was.

I should point out the person I actually dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful, but seriously I can't figure the other womans outburst. Or the phone call mood for that matter.

Most civil servants are very nice but never make the mistake of using sarcasm, irony or any other form of communication apart from mild deference. This I have found gets you the best results.

She had no right to speak to you that way.

Thats a bit strange I have rang about my daughter's pps number and they gave it out to me over the phone no problem once I gave them my own number. Must depend on whoever you get at end of phone.

    I would definately complain
