Remote Access

I'm currently several thousand miles from my iMac, external HDDs etc. I forgot to set up the means to access them remotely before I left for three months abroad. I'm using a mac book here. Both are running Leopard.

I would very much like to set things up so I can access all of my files back home, but thus far all attempts to do this using sharing and back to my mac features, along with a piece of shareware called Share Tool have failed. I'm not entirely certain why.

I have the problem of not being terribly used to the mac (I've been using them less than a year) and of having nobody particularly tech-savvy back home to help set that end, which will probably be the more complex one, up.

Anybody got any ideas what I could do in this area? All help greatly appreciated.

Try LogMeIn free. You can create an account online at your end. Then at home they download it, install it by running a package installer, and enter the details of your account. You can then access your Mac from any Mac or PC with the internet via the LogMeIn site.
