    Hi all,
I'm trying to get a Targa PC working, someone was at it and it requires the Targa bios file to get it started.

I've been looking all over the web for this BIOS file and all versions that I got were missing the actual k8vf.rom file that I need. (Yes I have checked the Targa website and the file are missing the actual bios file and the ASUS bios won't work, I've tried several)

The PC is: Targa Visionary AV64II 3200
    the Motherboard is: asus k8v-f

The PC is a Targa and as a result will only work with the targa BIOS.

If anyone has this would it be possible to email a copy?

I've already tried Driverguide.com, same thing the file is missing from the nero image. I've looked on a lot of sites with no sucessful results. I've e-mailed Targa, and have not yet recieved a reply.

What I really need is someone with this PC to copy the Bios and send me a copy.

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks,
    s

oh, this is a tricky one...a tricky one indeed...

is a fresh copy of the bios file an absolute must??

any copy of the bios file would work, but it has to be a targa version for this Targa Visionary AV64II 3200 pc, I've tried the ASUS ones but they are incompatible. if someone has this PC I can provide bios backup intructions (they're in the manual).

When the PC boots it goes straight to requesting a bios file and looks for the floppy or cd-drive, it looks like the person who went at the PC did something to the bios??
The Cd drive is not recognised so I need to load from a floppy drive, which I was lucky to find one in a drawer.
    The file is about 600k

    Thanks again,
    s

    http://www.service.targa.co.uk/

    http://www.service.targa.co.uk/dokumente/K8V1005TN.zip

Extacted Arnes Boot Record.img from the nero image (it's a floppy image)
    Extacted K8VF1005.rom from that.

    I've zipped that and attached.
    I've also zipped AFUDOS.EXE

Looking at the bat file there you run "afudos /iK8VF1005.ROM"

I think renaming the rom file to k8vf.rom would sort you out here.

    Big Thanks to The Edge,

I changed the name of the Bios to k8vf.rom as was needed.

File worked 1st time, thanks again.

Was able to get the bios flashed and after a bit of further investigation identified one of the Ram modules as the source of most of the problems.

I had already downloaded that archive from Traga, but could only see a text file inside the image, I'd be interested in how you could see the file, in case something like this comes up again

    Glad you had some success.
I used IsoBuster to read the nrg image and then used Winimage to read the floppy image.
