Just wondering if anyone has ordered from these and if so, who was the carrier and how much did they charge for customs clearance?
    Cheers all.

All information on Import Duty can be found on Revenue.ie
As far as I know, Kea use FedEx.

I know about the import duty rates, I used to work in customs clearance. Was just wondering if it is Fed-Ex, how much do they charge for the customs clearance, if anyone has had any dealings with them.

i think Kia Rev will refund any duty paid, as long as you provide a recipt of the duty paid. they generally mention it on their site.

I've used them once and asked them to state that the lens was a gift, they sent it on valued at $38 and claimed it was a "sample" lens :)

Only thing I would say against Kea is their postage charges. Paid for courier delivery on one relatively expensive item, and then some small cheap stuff which could have gone into the same box for free, but ended up being charged more postage for the small stuff, than the expensive item. Even though it was all shipped in the same small box.

item will be sent as a 'sample' if requested, although no guarantees will clear without charge. Idon't believe they will refund duty charges if sending to Ireland...thought that was for the UK only....could be wrong of course!

I have bought a few times and no probs whatsoever

Yup, this p****d me off a bit. They do seem to overcharge by quite a bit on the p+p. A few have complained about it.

    Thread locked.

I don't want any threads regarding advice on getting your gear through without paying customs.

    It's in the charter.
