Hey Folks. Well, I'm feeling impulsive at the moment so I'm going to buy a new LCD TV for my x-box and start getting my moneys worth out of it. I'm going to wall-mount it and I'm pretty restricted for space so 26" is all I can fit and even that's pushing it a little. There's a electronics shop here that a mate works in who should be able to get me a staff discount so I'm (unless someone convinces me otherwise) sticking to their selection. So out of these, what's best?

    My only requirements are that it has a PC connection, be it VGA or DVI (preferably) and also that the speakers are located underneath the unit and not on the sides so as to keep the horizontal width to a minimum. The list is;

SAMSUNG 26" HD READY LCD / Model: LE26A451C1XXEU
BEKO 26" HD READY LCD / Model: 26WLJ520HD
LG 26" HD READY LCD TV / Model: 26LC55
WALKER 26" HD READY LCD TV / Model: WP2609LCD
SANYO 26" HD READY LCD / Model: CE26LC81-B
NORDMENDE 26" HD READY LCD / Model: NM26780
TOSHIBA 26" HD READY LCD / Model: 26A3001P

And that's that, so if you know of any faults/shortcomings or virtues of these models then sound off. I've done a bit of research myself and will be doing more but anything you can offer is appreciated.

If I had to go for one I would go for the 26" Series 4 Samsung.
I don't rate the rest of them at all, TBH.

+ 1 for the Samsung. I had a 32" one myself before I upped and moved to the UK. Not to boast but it has been replaced by a 42" Pioneer Kuro :D

Flatscreens are still not at the point where there is a good baseline standard like CRT, and the cheap sets can still be absolutely terrible.

    Of that list these ,

BEKO 26" HD READY LCD / Model: 26WLJ520HD
WALKER 26" HD READY LCD TV / Model: WP2609LCD
SANYO 26" HD READY LCD / Model: CE26LC81-B
NORDMENDE 26" HD READY LCD / Model: NM26780

Are truly brutal sets that will be certain to leave you disappointed ,

The LG just about makes the grade , and the Samsungs can be good , but only the latest models.

Toshiba have some very good sets though I havnt seen the one listed , so I'll reserve judgement on that one.

If you want a good flatscreen you simply have to stick with the main players , Such as Pioneer , Panasonic and so on.

Definately the samsung if restricted to that list. Those cheapo ones would be dreadful.I know that toshiba. Its ok but a bit dated and basic.LG would be my second choice at the right prices. No real great choice at 26" really. That really is a very small size nowadays. The xbox on that samsung would still look beautiful, mind.If youre able to buy anywhere else, have a look at sonys offerings.Their 26S3000 or 26V4500(Prob the best 26" currently available, 33000:1 contrast:D) are worth a look
